My stay at Ascot Suites was quite mixed. I appreciated the spacious accommodations and the welcoming nature of the staff, but I was disappointed by the outdated decor and the lack of breakfast options. The absence of timely communication regarding renovation work was also frustrating, affecting my overall experience.

Rooms
5.0
The room was spacious, but the outdated decor made it feel cramped and dark. I noticed cobwebs in the tiny living room window, and it unfortunately lacked the charm I'd hoped for.
Service
6.0
While the staff was friendly, I found the service inconsistent. I experienced some communication issues, like not being informed about the renovations taking place during my stay, which impacted my comfort.
Location
8.0
The hotel’s location was a definite plus, as it was just a short walk from the waterfront and nearby attractions in Morro Bay, making it convenient for exploring.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast left a lot to be desired. It didn't start until 7:30 AM, and the options were quite minimal, especially for the price I paid. I expected a bit more variety and freshness.
Facilities
5.0
Although the common areas were clean, I noticed signs of neglect, such as bird droppings on the balcony and no coffee available until 9 AM. The hotel could use some sprucing up.

6.0/10

My stay at Ascot Suites Morro Bay had its ups and downs. I enjoyed the charming decor and proximity to the waterfront, which made it a great base for exploring. However, I faced several issues such as unhelpful front desk service and room cleanliness that left much to be desired. Overall, it was a mixed experience with some positive aspects, but I wouldn't say it lived up to the hype.

Rooms
5.0
The room I had offered a nice view of the rock, though the decor was quite dated. I did appreciate the size of the room, especially having a pull-out couch for my kids, but cleanliness was a significant concern with visible wear and tear.
Service
5.0
The staff seemed overwhelmed and unhelpful when I encountered issues, such as needing to get my keys reset. I also found it frustrating that nobody answered the front desk phone when I called for assistance.
Location
8.0
The hotel’s location is fantastic, just a short walk to the Embarcadero and numerous restaurants. I loved being able to explore the area easily, especially considering the beautiful views nearby.
Dining

While there was no breakfast served in-house, a communal microwave was available, and nearby restaurants provided plenty of food options. I appreciated having good coffee available in the lobby.
Facilities

I was disappointed with the overall maintenance of the facilities. The common areas felt neglected, and my room had several cleanliness issues. However, I did enjoy the rooftop lounge area for its lovely views.

5.0/10

I recently stayed at Ascot Suites Morro Bay, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The location is fantastic, just a half block from the Embarcadero with plenty of nearby shops and restaurants. The suite I booked offered a wonderful view of Morro Rock and included a jacuzzi tub, which was great for relaxing. However, the decor felt a bit outdated and there were a few maintenance issues that detracted from my stay.

Rooms
8.0
My Tudor Suite was spacious and included a fireplace and a comfortable double sleeper sofa for the kids. The views were very nice from both the master bedroom and the living room balcony. However, the lack of a shower curtain in the bathroom was an inconvenience, causing water to spray onto the floor.
Service
8.0
The staff was friendly and welcoming, adding to the cozy atmosphere of the hotel. They even hosted a wine tasting event, which was a nice touch. Yet, during breakfast, the area felt small and crowded at times, making it a bit difficult to find a table.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location was one of its best features. Just a short walk to the waterfront and many dining options. However, the slight uphill walk might not be suitable for everyone, especially older guests.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast had a decent selection, including scrambled eggs, waffles, and fresh salsa. I particularly enjoyed the coffee and pastries. Yet, the dining area was cramped, which could be challenging during peak times.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had a nice rooftop area that offered lovely views. The jacuzzi tub and fireplace in the suite were fantastic. Still, I experienced some construction noise in the mornings that interrupted my peace a bit.

5.4/10

My stay at Ascot Suites in Morro Bay had its ups and downs. On the one hand, the location was excellent, close to the waterfront, and the breakfast offered a decent variety. However, I encountered several issues with the room's cleanliness and maintenance that detracted from the experience. Overall, while there were highlights, the drawbacks made it less enjoyable than I had hoped.

Rooms
5.0
The room had some charm, with a cozy atmosphere, but it was quite grimy and in need of substantial cleaning. The bathroom was especially disappointing, with black spots on the caulking and a dirty sponge left behind by housekeeping. Some amenities, like the TV and certain electrical sockets, also didn't work properly.
Service
5.0
The staff was friendly when I interacted with them, but it was frustrating that the front desk was often unresponsive, and my calls went unanswered.
Location
9.0
The hotel’s location was a major plus—within easy walking distance to the Embarcadero and nearby shops, which made exploring Morro Bay very convenient.
Dining

Breakfast had a good variety, including fresh options like yogurt and hot dishes. However, some minor improvements could make it even better.
Facilities
5.0
The rooftop area had potential for great views, but it was neglected and unkempt with furniture in poor condition. Overall, while the hotel has great features, many need attention.

The breakfast options fell short on the first day, and the room I stayed in felt quite outdated. Though the staff were friendly and helpful, their availability was inconsistent, which added to my frustration.
